WES Parent Notification Letter

August 14, 2026
Dear WES Families,
Whiteville Elementary School was identified by the Tennessee Department of Education as a Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) school during the 2025–2026 school year. While this was not the designation we had hoped for, we recognize that improvement is necessary, and we remain committed to taking the steps needed to ensure every student succeeds.
This designation does not define our students or limit our school's potential. Instead, it serves as a call to action to strengthen instruction, increase student achievement, and build a culture of excellence. Our teachers and staff are working diligently to improve instructional practices, monitor student progress, and provide targeted support to meet students' academic needs.
Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year, "Year of the ROAR: Every Lion. Every Day. Roaring Toward Greatness," reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. However, meaningful progress requires a strong partnership between our school and families. We ask for your support in two critical areas:
1. Attendance Matters!
Every school day counts! Please ensure your child attends school consistently and arrives on time. Regular attendance is essential to academic growth and success.
2. Academic Support at Home
Encourage your child to read, study, complete assignments, and take ownership of their learning. Stay connected with teachers, monitor academic progress, and reinforce positive behavior and high expectations.
We understand that families face different challenges, and we remain committed to working together to support every child. Our goal is not simply to improve school designation, but to ensure that every student receives the quality education they deserve.
We will continue to communicate our progress and provide updates as we implement our school improvement plan. With commitment, consistency, and collaboration, we can move Whiteville Elementary from improvement to excellence.
Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. Together, we will ROAR toward greatness!
